Why Did My Betta Stop Blowing Bubbles?

I have a betta fish I got from the pet shop about a month ago. He was a happy fish, very active and blew lots of bubbles. I went on vacation the weekend before last and had my friend feed him. I think she fed him a little more than I do but nothing more than they can handle (I feed him a lot less than the packaging says). However, when I returned I noticed he hadn’t blown bubbles. I have checked the water temp (78 F) and kept his water extra clean but no bubbles have appeared and its been a week now. He is still very active and doesn’t have any noticeable changes (I know sometimes if they get sick they get dusty looking). Does anyone know what to do to make my fish happy again?

How can I put bubbles in my aquarium?

Question by billcollins531: How can I put bubbles in my aquarium?
I have a 20 gallon aquarium with a whisper out-of-tank filter.
I also want a bubble “filter”.
I have the tubing, but where could I find a good pump?
And I have tried to do this before, but I can’t figure it out (yep, I’m your average American idiot (-: ).
Here is how I think I need to do it:
1. Get everything ready (hookup the airstones to the tubing and the tubing to the pump.
2. Put the airstone directly into the gravel.
3. Turn on the pump

Whenever I put the airstone in, I try to bury the tubing but it just floats right back out of the gravel resulting in a tube in the middle of my aquarium. It looks terrible!

So my questions are: Can you please send me a URL of a good air pump (not powerful but just enough to make bubbles) that is cheap. And How do I bury everything?
Sorry for the extended details, but please help me out if you can. Thanks a bunch!!

There Are A Lot Of Bubbles On My New 5 Gallon Tank?

i bought the 5 gallon yesterday afternoon (june 15) and by the time i had the filter running, the decorations settled, the heater on, etc, there was like a ton of bubbles covering the glass. they were pretty small but like their quantity kinda worried me. it was a bout 12:00 at night (i was excited to set it up :P ) by the time i woke up the tank had lost about half its bubbles but there is still a lot on the top and my plants and rocks. i heard that they go away, but then i also heard that they can cause your fish to get sick. im getting my betta on Saturday (june 18), is that enough time for the tank to settle in? thanks, any answer/personal experiences appreciated.

My New Male Betta Won’t Blow Bubbles After I Cleaned The Tank And The Female Now Is So Full Of Eggs She Has?

Stretch marks that are starting to get bloody. There is only one major pet store in my town. Petsmart. I don’t know what to do with the female. Should I sell her? She has successfully mated before and this is her second time being full of eggs. If anyone lives close to Merced tell me some fish stores around there or of you can help me. She is healthy and a strong swimmer (normally). Please list some good aquarium salt brands or stress enzymes I can use to help her. I have bred bettas before, but I still am searching for the best way without going over the the top in expenses. Any non-strong current filters? I can only find 1-5 gallon ones that are not that strong when releasing the water. If you can find any big male bettas in a pet store that are blowing a whole bunch of bubbles, tell me because the male I have right now was from my parents as a birthday present and they know how to search for a healthy fish, but not for one that’ll breed well. Thanks in advance to good answers, but please answer quick, but still give good answers and no answers that have a cuss word in it please. :) (:)

Why Doesn’t My Son’s Male Betta Not Blow Bubbles?

My son bought a male betta fish yesterday and his tank was filled with tons of bubbles! But today all the bubbles are gone and he just follows my son around in his tank, like if he sits by it the fish will just follow him and just float on whatever side he sits on. Does this mean he is unhappy? Or sick? Please help thanks.

Air Bubbles On Surface Of The Water In My Betta Fish’s Tank?

I recently got a betta fish at the store and have a decent size fish tank although I do not have a filter for it. I typically feed him about 6 pellets every three days (the tiny bite size ones). I do a 30% water change every three days. The water has gotten reallllly cloudy. I have 3 small plants in there. It is a new aquarium and I was told not to put plants in it for a few months, but the plants look nice and they’re supposed to help rid the tank of ammonia and the nitrates in the water. So i have them in there. Recently I’ve been noticing alott of air bubbles on the surface of the water along with it being cloudy. I didn’t use any solution for the water, it is regular tap water that is drinkable. What are the air bubbles a sign of? What should I do about the cloudiness of the water? Is my aquarium healthy or do i need to make some changes that are cost effective? I don’t have moneyfor a filter or may other things that will defintely help my aquarium flourish. thanks!
