Questions About Converting Biorb Life To Marine Environment?

I’m converting my biOrb life 30 aquarium to a marine environment (with the marine conversion kit), and I was wondering a few things about the process:
1. Can I buy filters identical to the marine filter supplied in the kit or do i just use normal freshwater filters when i change the filter in the future?
2. Can I buy salt identical to the salt supplied or will any brand of salt do fine for use when changing the water?
3. With regards to the “clean up crew” – how many do I need, are there any that are particularly easy/difficult to care for, do i need a different kind of food for them, do they have any other requirements?
4. Do I still use the stress coat solution in the same way as i did with a freshwater aquarium? (the stress zyme was mentioned in the set-up manual but not the stress coat)
5. What fish would you recommend for a relative newcomer to marine fishkeeping?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
(P.S. I’ve read the reviews saying that the biOrb isn’t the best aquarium etc. so please don’t lecture on that! thanks :) )

Biorb Life 60 Marine Stocking?

Hi There
I have always wanted to keep marine fish, and I have noticed that many people are keeping marine fish in this tank – a tank that I saw a while ago in my LFS and really liked it.
I was just wondering what I could possibly stock it with, as some of them on the internet really do seem overstocked, even though I’m not really one to know, as I’ve never even kept marine fish.
I was wondering if the following might work:
-2 Small clownfish
-1 Royal Gramma
-Several cleaner shrimp.
I have seen similar setups in smaller aquariums, (even ones as small as the 8 Gallon BiOrb life – surely overstocked?), so I wanted to know if it would work in a larger one.
Whether appropirate or not, I am open to other ideas and suggestions.
Many thanks :)

Biorb Fish Tanks Can I Have In Them?

I know I showed this photo the other night about biorb tanks and asked about having them clown fish. but would I be ok to have to lion head goldfish in it?http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.swelluk.com/img/shop/original/biorb-marine-tank%255B1%255D.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.swelluk.com/aquarium/biorb-1159/biorb-aquariums-1160/biorb-30-7914.html&usg=__ulhOsP2hUd9Te_dgfYe6BwHpXHE=&h=325&w=300&sz=23&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=CHLlZO_W5R7m3M:&tbnh=139&tbnw=126&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbiorb%2Btanks%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1R2GGLL_en%26biw%3D1260%26bih%3D862%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=1018&vpy=58&dur=828&hovh=234&hovw=216&tx=135&ty=120&ei=G7vKTNPuFsqdOsPouYcB&oei=G7vKTNPuFsqdOsPouYcB&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=35&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:0

What Kinds Of Schooling Fish Can You Keep In A 30l Biorb And How Many?

About two and a half months ago, i purchased a 30 litre bi-orb. In it, we had 4 fancy goldfish (a black moor, fantail, celestial eye and a Ranchu). sadly, they all died of ich a few weeks ago. I am now looking to restock my tank and i would like some small fish that swim in shoals (neon tetras, things that sort of size) and i would also like to know how many i could have in a shoal. If this isn’t possible i would like some Golden Orandas, but i don’t know how many i could have in 30l of water.
I know this goes on a bit, but i am also not entirely sure how to clean up after my little parasite buddies made an appearance (ich) so if anyone is able to help me with how to restart my tank it would be much appreciated :)
P.S. we have already removed the water and the media in the bottom.
Thanks :)

Biorb 30 Stocking Ideas?

I Currently have 1 betta splendens and 5 neon tetra in a BiOrb 30. I’ve had them for a couple of months now they all get along great. – My Betta is super tolerant of the tetras and he acts like they’re not even there.
I was wondering If I’d be able to add add anything else to my aquarium. I considered some bottom dwellers such as pygmy corys, but I think the Ceramic Media may harm them – I thought I would have the same issue with snails too. I considered 2-3 male guppies, but, although my betta will tolerate neons, I didn’t know if he’d tolerate guppies, so I think theyre out of the question too. I also thought shrimp, but Betta’s have been known to attack those as well!
I’m looking for a/some colourful fish to add to my small community, so please could you give me some ideas!
Thanks in advance I Hope = ]

Is a 50 watt heater too much for a (4 gallon) Baby BiOrb?

The BiOrb heater pack comes with a 50 watt heater. PetCo.com states that it is for aquariums 8 gallons and up, but the actual packaging says it is suitable for all BiOrbs, including the Baby, which is 4 gallons.

Is 50 watts too much for 4 gallons? Should I try to switch to a 25 watt?

The thing about 25 watt heaters is: all that I’ve found do not have adjustable heat settings, and they don’t have very good customer reviews, either.

Please help!
Thanks.
