How to you attach plywood to acrylic?

How to attach tube thermometer into fish tank?

I have a thermometer, that I got at wal-mart. One of those “Aqua-Culture” thermometers, in a tube with weights at the bottom and a suction cup at the top. But, I had that thermometer for 3+ years, and the suction cup rubber is all hard and stuff, and it eventually broke. How can I attach the thermometer to my tank without anything hideous or big? Do I have to submerge the whole tube? Is there anything I can use that will not put chemicals, rust or whatever into the tank? Thanks greatly.

How do you attach a water bottle/hammocks/levels to an aquarium for mice?

I’m thinking about getting a pair of female mice, and want to keep them in a 10 gallon aquarium (I’ve heard of mice escaping from every wire gauge imaginable). I’m not exactly engineering savvy, and can’t figure out how to attach a water bottle in there since they’re all built for wire cages in mind, right? Velcro or a holder or something?

Same with hammocks and other level-adding items. I have a lizard hammock for my juvenile bearded dragon and that holds up… most of the time (fatty!)… with suction cups. Would that hold up to a pair of mice, or would I need some other alternative? I would want to be able to provide for my mice the same advantages of a multi-level wire cage while still keeping the added security.

Pics of your setups would be much appreciated.
I never said I was using sawdust. I was going to use kaytee softsorb or carefresh. I know about the phenol problems as well.

And I’ve heard from many rat/mouse sites that aquaria are fine, especially since mice can escape from just about any wire spacing, especially when young. That is from AFRMA itself.
Tank toppers are right out. At least the kind they sell around here. It has way too long of a drop, and the bars pretty spaced out. I can’t order anything online.

Can I buy aquarium sponge and attach it to my filter?

I want to buy some aquarium sponge and attach it to my filter so it will work like a sponge filter. Will this work? I can buy a sponge filter attachment for $15 but I don’t have much money and would like to do it as cheap as possible. Off course if it won’t work then I am happy to pay $15 for the attachment. But I would like to know what u guys think. Also I don’t know how much aquarium sponge costs so if anyone knows that would be great. I have just breed betta’s for the first time im on day five and am ready to get the filter going, I know I should have turned a filter on a couple of days ago. But anyway the babies are doing good I have about 40 that I can count, it is really hard to count them lol. Any advise u can give will help.
I was hoping it may restrict water flow as I think it is too strong for my baby bettas, si if that is the case it would be good.
I am not sure what sort of filter it is, its built in to my fish tank, it has a tube that comes down and sucks the water up and it goes through things that look like rocks and out the other end of my tank

how do i attach my mice’s sipper bottle to an aquarium?

ive got two female mice, and theyve been living in a small wire cage for about a week now.
i recently got a 10 gallon fish tank for them because i thought their wire cage was way too small, and they were a bit cramped.
problem is, the sipper bottle ive been using has been designed to be attached to a wire cage, and i have no idea how i would put it in the glass tank.
my parents wont let me go out and buy another bottle or another holder, so would i be able to make something that can hold the bottle up?

the bottle is like this, and has no hook at the top for anything to attach to:
