So I got this new fish tank and a new bubbler. Problem is the bubbles stay at the top like soapy water..help?
I’m not sure what it is. So I’d like to know soon. Whether or not it’s really bad, or just normal for a new tank and filter. It’s only the second day and the fish seem fine… but those bubbles. The water isn’t cloudy either. It’s just the bubbles are floating on the top of the water sometimes looking like foam, but just a bunch of bubbles. I really need some help.
I’d like to point out I have that clear tube attached to a…yeah I’m going to describe it as a black thing with holes underneath the gravel and I put the stone in that…but the bubbles just pop up and spread….
I guess I’ll add that it’s two fish (small) for a one gallon…so I figured it’s okay, plus it’s the only one my mom would pay for. And I realize I’ll have to buy aquarium salt for them, so for now the water’s clear and not murky. I hope I can figure out what’s with the bubbles and if that’s normal or not before I add salt.
I didn’t clean the tank with soap, and I haven’t put anything it it either. The only thing that’s worked so far is putting a little blocker in the air tube so that less bubbles come out….

I don’t know sorry..are you sure there is no detergent got into your tank..did you wash the new tank in soap for example before you set it up??
Detergent is not good for the fish-if you think it could be that then you need to get your fish into detergent free water.
Is there a number for the shop where you got your fish from? Aquatic shops usually are good at giving advice about caring for you fish and setting up your tank etc give them a go.
Good luck
Some chemicals that you put in the water can do it, like the water conditioner or any other fish products like medicine.
hey! don’t worry!! i have the same thing that happens in my 20 long, my 45, and my 55, and usually its just because the air stone makes the bubbles be small and rise together, the simple solution to this, is to barry your air stone under the rocks and make it look like the bubbles are coming up from the rocks. It makes the bubbles look bigger so the fizzing will be at a minimum. There is always some kind of fizzing, don’t worry! Hope this helps!
it normal…
my tank is like that too
don worry =]
