by Aquaboy on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010 | 3 Comments
the 29 gallon dimensions are 30 x 18 x 12.5
filter is aquaclear power filter 30
the crayfish did not reproduce yet
i did not add the crayfish yet
also can i keep two of my goldfish in the tank when they are larger
goldfish have the potential to reach a foot while marbled crayfish do not grow more than 4 in
if i should not keep crayfish in this tank should i keep weather loaches

Fancy goldfish need a minimum of 20g each with double the filtration. You’d need 11 more gallons if you wanted to house only your two goldfish. If you have common goldfish which are meant to be in ponds and not home aquariums due to their size, you’ll need a 75g tank with double the filtration, at least.
A 29g tank would be great for a crayfish, just don’t add the goldfish.
mmm. dinner…
Since Marbled Crayfish are vegetarian … you can keep them with any fish that won’t eat them.
Are you counting on the Marbled’s to reproduce as snacks …. they don’t breed that fast. Not in the same tank as fish that can eat the young.
For clean-up,they do a good job.
Marbled’s are nice pets in a tank of their own … believe I’d try them that way. They’re fine in “community” tanks … but don’t think they’d fair well with Goldfish or Weather Loach.
