Should I Switch My Corn Snakes Cage? And How Do I Disinfect The Cage?

My corn snake is six months old and about 2 feet long he is longer than his 10 gallon aquarium now
the tank i’m gonna switch him to is 3 feet long (double the ten gallons length). can i switch him?
(Sorry i didn’t have the tank size).
Oh and my sisters corn snake died in the bigger tank do i need to disinfect the cage? If so, how
