Should I put aquarium gravel in my tank with an arowana?

I have a 180 gallon tank with lots of filtration should i keep the aquarium gravel or should i get rid of it Ive heard that with out aquarium gravel it will cause droop eye becus it causes reflection but my tank doesn’t do that and since i use a magnetic pump with a sump it pumps out lots of water really fast creating waves is that good or not for arowana? and how many large ones could i keep 2? ty for answering

    no its not, but to be sure, you may put fine sand and just 1 centerpiece,
    that would be great, and just keep an eye on your arowana,
    by the way, how big is your arowana?

    Gravel is not a necessity however, it adds to the biological make up of the tank so if for some reason theres a catastrophe with filter at least the tank is still well seeded, not having it though means you can remove waster far easier, which is something breeders do in there tanks. Droop eyes is usually caused by the fish hunting for its food below the water line as the fish usually predates at the surface, so as long as most of the food floats there should be no problem however, giving feeder fish to often will cause problems eventually.
    180 gallons while is a decent sized tank 2 full grown 24″+ fish will be hell of a bio load on that amount of water.
