Shut it off at night. Just like any animal, fish should have a period of darkness so that they may rest. Leaving the light on 24/7 will also spur algae growth.
What sort of algae eaters?
shut it off at night fish like you need to sleep

No, shut it off at night. Fish need a sense of day & night just like people do.
Nooo! shut it off!!! how would you like to sleep with a reallyy strong light on. =P shut it off at night so the fishies can sleep
Turn it off at night.!
Provide then with 8 hours intense light via the aquarium and then 8 to 10 hours of darkness. That only adds up to 16 hours. The rest of the time should be ambient light.
Anything more than that will spur algae growth.
Fishes are just any type of animals, they require period of rest or sleep. And they do that when the lights are off. That is natural for them.

no leave it off when your not home, the fish are actually sensative to light and dont like it all the time. but you will need the light because of the other inhabitants.
turn it off at night fish need to sleep as well so turn the light off at night, leaving it on 24/7 can cause your fish to stress out and die and will induce algae growth
