ph is 8.8 in freshwater aquarium, how to get it down.?

my amonia and nitrite levels are 0. the tank is an old established tank but has not had fish in it for apprx 8months. I just did a 20% partial water change. I have put in oranda goldfish.

any suggetsions??

    well DONT USE the “ph neutralizer tablets, THEY DONT WORK but most pet stores do seel LIQUID ph down and that works always has for me and if all ugot is goldfish then u want a ph of like 6.5-7.0 but 8.8 ur goldfish will probly die so get the liquid stuff i have 5 tanks and it hasnt failed me yet

    I never suggest anyone to use chemicals to change the pH. Using this create unstable and fluctuating pH levels which is more harmful to fishes than stable high or low pH.

    Find out why your pH level is high and fix the root cause. If the water is naturally high pH level, then use RO or DI water.
