If your Betta doesn’t have enough room to turn around, you DEFINABLY know something is wrong.
I kept two bettas in two seperate tanks about this size (a little larger) because I heard that this is the sort of thing they naturally live in…
First off, Wild bettas live in rice paddies, and the only time they’re in conditions where the water is that shallow is for about 2 or 3 months out of the year.
Second off, Wild bettas are hardier and used to those sorts of temporary conditions. The Bettas we find in almost any pet store are not their hardy brothers and sisters; they’re much more delicate and aren’t conditioned to small areas for extended periods of time.
Just…don’t do it. Save a poor creature and yourself the pain this type of tank will cause and buy a larger tank…5 gallons or more is best…

Too small for a temporary home. Not bad I guess if you wanted to put one in there while your changing your REAL tank. You can get a 5 gal for cheaper at some places. Please be kind!
