i have fruit flies or nats in my fish tanks light hood, and they don’t seem to go away i clean the tank its clean and after about 2 days there in the hood again and water is clean i dont know where they are coming from, there is no garbage by them or any food so i dont know. what can i do to fix this problem, do snails eat this little nats since they are on hood, should i get one or two? i dont know?
wipe the hood down
Wipe down the algae thats growing above the water level. Where the water splashes and near the lights. Thats what the gnats are feeding on.
They will be harmless, and the fish will eat any that fall into the water. But to get rid of them you have to remove their food source, and that will be even a small amount of algae around the light hood.
