LOL that one person is too funny.. Yes it will be ok to go to the creek and get some algae

he’s finding food, just keep feeding them like normal, he’ll be fine. don’t go get a rock from the stream because it’ll have bacteria and other stuff on it that will probably kill your fish.

Well… he’s a sucker fish, so that’s what he does? Put a few algae tabs. I think you should of left the tank dirty, so the fish has something to do…

The way to tell if a sucker fish is hunger is look at its belly and see if it appears flat or more round like a full belly. Since you’ve cleaned the tank you probaly are going to have to get the wafers designed for your sucker fish or it will not get enough food. I won’t put a rock from a creek with algree on it you’ll bring other bacteria into your tank that may kill your fish. You don’t need to see algae for it to be there feel the sides and see if its slimmy thats the stuff sucker fish eat. Good luck

He could be hungry, and there are various things you could feed your plecostomus ( sucker fish ), such as cucumber, peas or squash…or frozen veggies, but not allot, and only once or twice a day. They are herbivores, so until some algae grows, this may be your best bet.

Has this tank been up for a while before adding fish? I hope so.
Bringing in a rock with algae is risky…you don’t know what else might lay in wait in the algae. just keep giving the tabs and maybe sink a piece of blanched zucchini or cucumber for him.

don’t put stuff from other water in there. He’s just trying to figure out the tank and it’s surroundings. You could kill him and other fish by putting stuff from other water holes in there.

Just let him be, he is fine. You could get some algae wafers to help, or put zucchini in there.
