….usually orange algae is result of green algae turning orange, or yellow, from nutrient type imbalance and it will return to green once the balance is reestablished
…are you cycling a new tank of water? that already had some green algae, like on the decorations or gravel or filter.etc.etc?
…a spike in NH3 will turn green algae to yellow or orange
…if you are referring to the orange slime like that growing in my bathtub (roflol)…that should be removed with an algae scrapper, or clean non-metal scrubbing pad, trying not to let much of the pad into your tank water

hmmm are you sure it is orange algae and not a spot where excess food and waste is building up in the gravel

to date I have never heard of orange algae but here is a site that talks about it

Brown diatoms commonly appear orangish, and I’m sure that’s what you’re talking about. It’s probably a thin layer of brownish-orange on your glass, that is easily seen from an angle, and looks like an orangish cloud straight on. The best way to get rid of it is by simply rubbing it off (it looks like dust once it’s suspended in the water), and vacuuming it out. To keep it from coming back, simply do more water changes to reduce the amount of nitrate the algae has available, add some easy-to-keep fast growing plants like Water Sprite, Hornwort, or Duckweed to outcompete the algae for nutrients (nitrate, phosphate, iron, etc.), and avoid overfeeding, as this will allow nitrate and phosphate to build up.
