i have had an 18 year old goldfish and have always fed him the same thing. but ever since yesterday he has been a lot different. he can barely swim and just sits at the bottom of the tank as if his fins are broken. he has also been breathing hard and weird. i tried feeding him but he doesnt even go to try to get the food, which is definetly not like him. What should i do since i have already cleaned his cage.

18 years old is VERY old for a goldfish most live between 0-10 years old! well done for looking after it well btw!
Maybe his time is near if your still worried call a pet shop or something!!

i had one that lasted me 8 years and m very surprised yours is 18 but i think you should just let it go because its probably gana die pretty soon.

it may sound cruel but you should flush it down the toilet so u dnt have to c it dead
Preform meteocer Surgery jk it’s prob dying of old age keep doing ur regular rutine with it hopefully it lives
honestly, if your fish is 18 years old, he is probably reaching the end of his days.
The only suggestion that I could make is to place a CHEMIPURE carbon into your filtration system. This will take out any unseen impurities that might have gone unnoticed.

WOOOOOOOOW IDK WHAT TO SAY…. maybe hes too old? whats the temp on the tank… if its 2 low goldies tend to hibrinate in cold temps…. good job 18 yrs? mine is 4
