just letting everyone know sometimes neons WILL kill each other off ive had it happen a few times in my tank

Loads of different sites tell you how big Neon Tetra’s get, i have been told to a maximum size of 2.2cm, 3cm and 4cm, does anyone here know the proper size?

With the Air pump being below the surface water level of the tank theirs a chance when turning off the pump it can suck it in and then damage /waterlogg ur pump or even break it

no it dont need 2 be higher, its just a risk of it failing easier or leakin! i have 1

c’est dommage de mettre des néons dans des soucoupe, ces poissons ont besoin minimum de 1m de longueur pour leur bien etre et minimum mettre des bancs de 10…le mieux serais de 25/30…

    Great

Awesome I’ve always wanted a biorb but in the stores near me they are very expensive! I have 4 neon tetras in my 10 gallon tank and a lot more. By the way your fish look very healthy keep up the good work, it seems like they are babies, =) ( unless its just from far away!)

  9. alex2mitch says:

the air pump needs to be at a higher level than the water in the tank and it need to be on 24/7

  10. alex2mitch says:

awsome do you plan to breed them?

  11. kebea41 says:

If you read the instructions with the tank you purchased it will tell you the recommended amount of fish for that size tank..the instructions for each BiOrb tank are not too long and boring lol..and always have a new filter in on hand

  12. alex2mitch says:

its not cruel that tank could probs fit another 5-10 in it

  13. alex2mitch says:

hi i have just bought a 15 L biOrb would you reccommend this? also how many fish would i be able to have it in?

  14. karlos12121 says:

hi mate.. you shouldnt really be turning off the air pump at all… if you do you need to make sure you have a STOP valve fitted and that your pump is ABOVE the water line to stop water coming back up the tube… you will quickly wreck any air pump you use this way.

  15. kebea41 says:

Once in a while you mean every 4-6 weeks it does become a pain and quiet expensive but these tanks are much better to clean and maintain than a original fish tank,,well recommended and they look good

please can anyone tell me why i have water in my air pump? i turn it off every night so is that the problem? do i need to put the air pump somewhere important because is it gravity that pulls the water down into it so would i need to place it higher than the tank itself or not turn it off at night etc.

  17. jacksite2007 says:

isn’t it annoying that the filter is right at the bottom and you have to replace it once in a while

I think your reading too much into numbers. 20 is fine in that tank i have seen 20+ minnows in a 25l tank before and no problems. A 40mm neon tetra, on average they grom to 25mm but rarely above 30mm!

  19. mmjk84 says:

    you can use aquarium gravel?

  20. mcr0311 says:

On my work experience we kept more fish than that in a biorb and that’s been going for well over a year now. You think there’s too muuch in there then tell me why I’ve been able to run a marine biorb for half a year with no problems.

  21. chriscampyishere says:

4cm! dont think so ive got 10 in a 125litre tank theve barely touched 2cm never mind 4 there ok if tht is all he has. its not cruel

  22. ravenposy says:

neon tetra can grow to about 4cm, you should only really have 5 in a tank that size; 1.5litres per cm. It’s cruel.
