Mom has litterally 300-400 baby snails which started from 11-12. ?
Back when I helped mom start off her 10gal 1 fish tank (this molly kills every other fish with him) we got 11-12 small snails for free at petco to help keep the tank clean. What we first realized was LOTS of bubble things on the glass (not out of water, all in) with eggs in it. The next day we had white little specks which in about a week you can see that they are snails. The snails when we got them were TINY and now they’re pretty big. About |_____| long and |___| high around. Now we have hundreds of these baby snails all over the tank and there is poo everywhere on the bottom from the snails. The tank water is crystal clear but the bottom of the tank is filled with snail poo. We don’t want to kill them…but we would like to find a way to put them in a different container nicely until we can dispose of them in a lake or somewhere.
My tank which I had 4 mystery snails for starter only has around 100 little babies. I don’t know why mine are growing so slow and hers are huge and why mine lay eggs above water and theirs lay eggs under water. Any idea what they could be? I told mom I would take her big ones and she wants me to..but seeing how many snails..I’m not sure.
What do we do about the bombarding of snails without killing them?
Where could we dispose of them where they could live their lives?
Why do they lay eggs underwater while my mystery snails lay eggs above the water?
Why are they growing so much faster than mine?
What kind of snail are they?
Are they good or bad?
Could they ruin the filter?
What do we do!!!!
EDIT: I was looking in my tank because I have been noticing since they were taken out of the 29 gallon because the goldfish were being mean they were more inactive. I noticed today I dead one (being eaten by baby mysteries, parshally out of it’s shell, and not going back in when I picked him up or poked him…also an outragious smell to him. What caused his decline in health since moving him?

haha, snails are pests! they gave them to you probably cause they were overstocked.
snails self reproduce! 1 snail can turn into 50 in a matter of wks/months!!!
they are a pain!!!
what you need to do is set a piece of cucumber at the bottom of the tank (stick a stainless steel forck in it to make it sink) and the next morning you should snails eating it just pull it out and throw away the snails. that should help. (lettuce can work two if you sit a rock at it).
