jack dempsey is the best
@mammaspud no dempseys 13 inches max and females reach about 10 inches but you are right about the dovii
my jack would have murdered those pussy fish, so wud my electric yellow
clean your tank jagoff
why does everybody argue who is the toughest cichlid, it’s obvious dovii’s are the top cichlid bar none, fish are at their toughest when full grown so for a full grown jd at 10 inch to take on a 10inch wolf would be like an adult vs a teenager bcos the dovii hasn’t reached full strength now imagine what would happen if the dovii was 20 inch the jd would tore to shreds quite simply, and midas can reach a good 14inch if given right tank & filtration

@AfricanCichlidFan
no mate you need to get your facts right, male dempseys reach 8 inches max and females reach upto 6 , whereas dovii males can reach 28 inches and females upto 20inches so even a female wolf cichlid could kill and eat a fully grown male Dempsey. Also the midas cichlid, if it was the same size as the wolf im sure it would kill any other fish but bearing in mind they only reach approx 10 inches the wolf cichlid would definately eat it.
Give it a few months until the dempsey reaches 12 inches. this dovii is a female, and females only get to 14 inches in the wild 10 or 12 inches in an aquarium. The dempsey would kill the dovii. The red devil would kill both of them
no mate give it a few months and the dovii would swallow the dempsey whole and probably the midas too.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s too bad this is a female dempsey…if it was a male this dovii would be dead.
Get a bigger tank also clean it….
