@capekate firemouths go great with alot of fish. ive had my firemouth grow up with my red oscar and they get along great
it`s possible but you must have a great filtration system, and do a 25-50% water change at least once a week.
So do you think I could get one regular JD and one firemouth in a 55 gallon tank? Thanks if you respond.
JD NIGGA
I found that my firemouths were pretty tame, not at all aggressive to my other fish. Of course, big fish eats little fish rule still applies. There is always the dominant fish, but hopefully ur 2 firemouths will get along well enough that 1 is not injured or stressed out so much that u loose it. Just make sure to have plenty of hiding places such as plants rocks..etc that will help break up the view and give them places to hide out if need be. good luck
that was just what i was planning.only one,or two firemouths.ive been told they wont harm the other fish if they are already there,i mean if the firemouths are the last to arrive.may be its not a bad idea.btw,if i put two of them, the domminant will only pursue the weak, and that way it wont harm the other fish,am i right??
Depends on how many firemouths u have in that 40g tank. I found that they were not really aggressive with other fish and u may be ok with the pair of Gouramis. But again, depends on how many firemouths u plan on keeping. I think you can get away with 2 of them plus the Gourami’s but others may have more suggestions for u. good luck.
due to the firemouths` vids im watching,i supose they cannot live in a 40 gal tank with a pair of blue gouramis, can they??
@LGSKnicks88 hi, thanks for the concern. This video was posted almost two years ago. I no longer have the Fm’s and just rehomed both JD’s. Sorry to hear of your trouble with the FM and JD’s they r both great fish.
please get that firemouth out of there, he has the same as you but his jd owns his fm. his fm haas wounds and cuts, wil proly die and infect the jd. dont make the same mistake. get a tank divider.
no problem
i have to in my tank right now but im gonna take my dempseys back cas they get 10 inches and i dont want them that big..sucks cas they are prettier too
you could give it a try if your gt is nice but offer hiding places to the fire mouth just incase like places where the gt cant go.
Beautiful tank
I have my 6 inch JD with 2 baby texans and a baby FM in a similar sized tank, all happy as larry.
yes, but like the other side they need to all be added when babies. Never introduce a new fish to an established tank. I have 2 jack, 1 green, 2 red devils, 1 oscar, and 2 bala sharks in a tank, and an african zebra. All babies when put in now they are nearly fully grown and dont really care about eachother sicne they established there own territory. I introduced a severum and blackbelt about a month back, they are no longer living.
if the GT is a grown up no if the Fm is a baby hell no is there both baby’s then yes
Do you think i could keep a fire mouth with a green terror in a 55 gallon?
Hey nice fish! I remember when mine were that small. The Jacks are aggressive but I think the Firemouths are more aggressive when they get older. In about the middle of my video you’ll see my firemouth nip at the male Jacks tail. He constantly fights with the female- (lip lock) but no blood shed. Nice tank too by the way :-}
jeez no need to get all pissy…..
kid ur fuckin retarted.
WOW!!! why would ou do that????
u need to grow a pair and get laid.
WOW!!! why would you do that????
i hope it dies.
i just bot a tank today filled it up with water. then i threw my fish in with out declorinating the water. theyer still alive and its been almost 15hrs.
yes and you better also have good water quality too
could i have 2 firemouths, 2 convicts, and a jd in a 55 gallon for life?
it has good filtration and i do 25% water changes weekly.
