What in heck are you doing? Why are you buying all that junk? Fish like to live as they do in nature. Natural type rocks, sand or dark gravels. Fish do not care about fake decorations all over the place. Get a few fake plants and grab a piece of wood that is in the river or some fancy rocks and save your money instead of buying a bunch of junk and caves that fish can get stuck in and make your tank look phoney.

Coral sand? No way. That’s for cichlids and will raise your pH up to where you do not want it for guppies. Automatic feeder? You can’t toss a pinch of food in the tank each day?

Wow….you got it all planed out..

But I would suggest that you delet the Bumblebee..

Pseudomystus siamensis may be territorial and aggressive. Continuous clicking noises during the night may signal potential aggressive interactions, and it may be necessary to remove the belligerent culprits.

    What size tank..100g’s

I agree, there’s a whole lot of junk there you don’t need, and indeed shouldn’t have in terms of that coral sand – coral sand will change your water chemistry in freshwater and is NOT recommended. Same goes for the amethyst – I wouldn’t recommend gem stones for a fish tank, many can contain trace metals which again will change your water chemistry and kill any inverts.

Less is more when it comes to fish tanks – ramming it full of tacky fake decorations will leave less room for fish and just look hideous after a few months when it’s covered in algae.

All you need for your tank is the tank, the nets, the chemicals and one large bit of decor – my preference is nice shaped bit of bogwood and a couple of live plants (hardy ones like hygrophilia or hornwort).

As for the fish, I would never by a catfish that’s just labelled as “suckermouth catfish” – that just means the store is too lazy to ID the fish, there are HUNDREDS of species of fish that could be called that that will get anything from 2″ to over 24″, if they can’t get a latin name for it, find another store.

The Glass Catfish are happier in a shoal and that may well be too much for your tank. They would also eat any Guppy fry (which would be a good thing with 8 females each pumping out upwards of 30 fry per month).

What is the “freshwater cleaner pack”? No animal will clean your tank for you, that’s your job. Anything sold as a “cleaner” is false, they’ll poop as much as the rest of the animals in there and nothing will eat poop.

The Bumblebee Catfish, if you mean Batrochoglanis raninus, will get too big for that size tank and would eat the Guppies, adults and fry, and the shrimp too.

I think you need to go back to the drawing board!
