Is This A Good Stocking?

I have my 20 Gallon Fish tank with
- 2 Undergravel Filters
- 1 Power Filter (20)
- 1 Airpump
- Driftwood
- Sandy Rocks
- Colored Rocks
-Crayfish
- 4 Rosyred Minnows (feeders)
- 4 Comet Goldfish (Feeders)
Is it?
I want to add a mystery snail, cory catfish/algae eaters & shrimp to keep it clean. Is that a good janitor system?
What kind of fish can I add there? What kind of other food can I feed it? What do I need to know for a crayfish? Thanks!

  1. Ganal says:

No, it’s not good stocking. First crayfish will attack and kill fish. They prey on the fish. Second, comet goldfish get over 18 inches long and need 75 gallons each with double filtration. At the moment you are way over stocked with just the goldfish adding more fish will make it worst. Also most other fish ( and the ones you mentioned) are water water fish that need heaters. Goldfish don’t need heaters as they are cool water fish. They don’t mix well with tropicals.
My recommendation is to get rid of the goldfish and go with tropical fish. They don’t get as big and you won’t have to upgrade.
    Edit-
After rereading it again I think I got it. You are feeding the cray fish the fish correct? That sounds fine. When I had 3 crayfish they also ate plants such as amazon sword. Don’t add any bottom feeders. Cray fish are bottom feeders and
eat remaining things. Has it molted? If not remember to leave the molted shell in the tank. The crayfish will eat it to get calcium and other nutrients.
Do you have anything for it to hide in? The ones I had liked to hide as well as climb.
