Is this a good clean up crew for my 29 gallon biocube?

Ok so I have a 20 gallon oceanic biocube that has been running approx 1 month. I cycled it with 2 Damsels for 2 weeks, then removed them and added a clown, bubble tipped anemone, and a xenia frag (just for fun).

Now I was just wandering when I need to get a clean-up crew?

What would be an ideal crew?

And is this a good crew- 15 BLUE LEG HERMIT CRABS,4 RED TIPS MEXICAN HERMIT CRABS,5 SNOW WHITE HERMIT CRABS, 7 ASTREA TURBO SNAILS, 2 ATLANTIC PORCELAIN CRABS, 25 NASSARIUS VIBEX SNAILS, 20 DWARF CERITH SNAILS, 2 PEPPERMINT SHRIMPS, AND 2 GREEN EMERALD CRABS

(this was an example i found online)

THANKS!

That’s quite a large CUC for a tank that size, actually. In fact from experience that would probably be more suited to a tank several times larger than what you’ve got. Typically people will recommend 1 CUC member per gallon of tank (I know, I know, gallon-based rules are dumb but this seems to work?), with roughly as many snails as hermits, and a pair of shrimp in a tank that size. Just be careful when you buy your shrimp that they’re actually Peppermints and not Camels… the latter is known to nip at soft corals and zoanthids quite readily.

Personally I’d be going for something like this:

    5 Turbo snails
    10 Cerith snails
    10 Blueleg crabs
    2 Emerald crabs
    3 Snow White crabs
    2 Peppermint shrimp

Gotta be wary with your Emerald crabs and your Turbo snails, both do grow quite rapidly, and the crabs can be aggressive to one another if kept in more than pairs.

    Hope that helps :)

    way to much

way to many hermit crabs as they will do alittle too good of a job and may start fighting on a new tank and that small. i would go with 10 blue leg hermit crabs. 5 asteria snails, 4 tonga nassauris snails, 2 peppermint shrimps

i would stop the emerald crabs, i personally dont like them as when they do get larger they can go after fish.

Just for the record, the stock lighting will not be enough for a bubble tip anemone long term.
