OK i want one. in a 10 gallon tank. tell me how to care for them. how much aquarium salt should i use. i just want one or 2 (if they can go together) can they eat shrimp. do they like more salty water or freshwater. i know there are brackish fish. are there any special requirements for brackish fish than freshwater fish.

There is a huge difference between the two. GSP are considerably more aggressive, get about 6″ long, need brackish water (specific gravity of 1.005-1.008) as juveniles, and near marine conditions (1.020ish) as adults. Figure Eights stay around 3″, are markedly more docile, and will tolerate freshwater their whole lives, though are best kept in a weakly brackish tank (1.005). Both will eat shrimp readily, though you should offer bloodworms, mysis shrimp, and some occaisional white fish wouldn’t hurt. In a 10 gallon tank, I’d definitely opt for a single Figure Eight Puffer, but you’ll need to stay on top of your water changes (at least once a week) and make sure the tank is decked out with decor to keep the fish entertained; they’re extremely intelligent and bore easily.
im not shure about how they are differnt i just got a green spotted puffer and hes great ive had him for 3 days and hes alredy eating out of my hand, to take care of them: you need about one table spoon of instant ocean [thats waht i use] to make his water, you can feed him blood worms brine shrimp some times flake food when he gets bigger you can feed him people shrimp cryfish ghost shrimp, they need to eat hard shelled food all the time for their teeth because they grow all the time and if you dont their teeth will over grow and they will starve to death :[
DONT BUY AQUARIM [idk how to spell] SALT
