Is 2 Aqua-Tech 5-15 gallon filters too much filtration for a 10 gallon aquarium?

I already have 1 Aqua-Tech filter, but I am getting a otocinclus and I have heard they are huge waste makers.
Also, if i have two filters, do i still need a air pump. The air pump is a 5-15 gallon as well.

im sure that 1 ilter is enough u dont really need an air pump
No, that is what I run. It might even be a little light depending on how you stock. You don’t need the air pump at all, just keep the water level about an inch below the hood line (viewed from the outside) and one filter alone will provide ample surface agitation.

you could purchase a second filter or simply upgrade to a stronger filter. I suggest bio wheel ( It’s really helped keep my goldfish waste under control) I would suggest a bubbleer it adds extra oxygen to the water and really mkaes your fish happier.
Where are you getting your information? There is no such thing as a 1 1/4″ fish that produces huge amounts of waste. Your two filters will be fine for most fish. You are always better off overfiltering than underfiltering. You don’t need an air pump with one filter or two, but it won’t hurt to get one either.
One filter is fine,as long as you have a filter you don’t need an air pump unless you just like the look of it.Air pumps don’t do very much anyway.
Too much filtration has never been a problem, provided it’s being done with clean & maintained filters. Keep your airstone too. Clean water + bubbles = healthy fishes.
I have an Aqua -Tech 5-15 and it does not seem to be workin as it should. The Motor spins the bluewheel all the filters in place and no water flows??!
Would anyone care to help please? I bought a brand new one and I checked both assemblies: of the old and new filter set ups. Both are identical and don’t work. I let them run and leave the hood open to see if water fills up.
It does not. No water current into the pipe hingin down the tank. Water level is as the Aqua-Tech 5-15 manual explained. Do I have to fit something like a pump hose in somewhere in addition? does not look like it to me. I suspected air entering where the pipe assembles into the motor spindle housing. I tightened it and clamped it down with my hands, tried stuffing a little wool to make it air-tight. To no avail… Lost for words….
