i want to build an underfloor aquarium?

i want to excavate the floor of my lounge and build an aquarium.my idea is to then build a framework with a glass floor,creating the impression of walking on the fish.how deep must the aquarium be? what fish can i stock? will khoi be suitable? the area is 4 meters X 6 meters.will a depth of 500mm suffice? what must the thickness of the glass panels be?

This is going to a lot of work, just to have fish swimming so far under your feet nobody can see them. Have you considered flooring with a fishes design embedded? There are interesting places to put an aquarium but this does not sound like one of them.
The other thing to consider is the water-air-glass boundary.
If the glass is not in direct contact with the water, it will be difficult to see anything in the water. Over time, the underside of the floors would also get dirty. So you must account for that and build the panels to where they can be removed and cleaned.
Maintaining the water level is not easy in an aquarium.
So if you do it, don’t forget to light it well. That would help.
