I Need Serious Help With My Goldfish. Help?
by Aquaboy on Friday, September 3rd, 2010 | 4 Comments
My comet goldfish I got from petsmart was getting bullied in his original tank. The fish nibbled at his fin and damaged it. I got him out before he died and put him in an old fishbowl i found (after cleaning it of course) an now he’s swimming around like crazy, then bottom-sitting, then swimming around like crazy, and so on. I can’t return him because he was a feeder fish and I can’t let him die in those horrible tanks they have for them at petsmart. I really need help, I don’t want him to die.

well you can put him back in the original tank if you move things around in the tank. it causes confusion to all the fish and stops the bullying. try it i did it with my gold fish and it worked like a charm
I hes not dead by now he might be okay unless hes bleeding more than minorly. I do not have much experience with goldfish but Ive had damaged fish. i can tell you that the more hurt he is the higher chance itll not survive. If it calms down and accepts food when hungry I think it will be okay. However you need to filter the water somehow whether it is by using water from the 55g or making the water chemically safe from tap water. Water quality is very important. If the goldfish just moved from two very dfferently temperatured waters, the shock could kill it. Bad chemical levels also can diminish fish health. So remember to keep the water chemical levels good according to how the goldfish requires them.
If you want the goldfish out of the bowl you can get it a new tank. I do not no how much they require depending on their size so you can look that up on several different fish websites. For a comet goldfish I would estimate a tank of around 30 gallons or bigger becasue they get pretty big.
You had better get it in more spacious accommodations or it won’t last very long in a one gallon bowl!
put the goldfish in the aquaruim and put the fish thats bulliying him in the fish bowl
and i think your goldfish is gonna die cuz you change the water all of the suden
