I would like to know how to care for it? I have it held down by gravel but that’s it. What can i do to make both my betta fish and my bamboo happy together?

The trouble with bamboo is that it’s a terrestrial plant, and while it can live for quite some time when kept partially submerged, it will soon rot if completely submerged.
The other trouble is that Bettas are jumpers, and as such require a covered aquarium.
So, Betta + Bamboo does not equal a happy union.
Look instead for easy to grow plants that are truly aquatic for your Bettas home, such as Anubia, Java Fern, Java Moss, and Crypts.
You really only need to have good lighting for it, so place the the tank in a room with natural light for the bamboo. Your aquarium water temp should be fine for it. Very easy to care for.
Good luck!
“Lucky Bamboo” plants can have their roots in the water (including in a fish tank) but the leaves and most of the stems need to be in the air, or they will rot.
Lucky Bamboo is not really a bamboo plant, it is a species of shrub, Dracaena sanderiana, native to Cameroon, West Africa. It is not a true aquatic plant, either, which is why you can’t grow it submerged in water.
I kept them together and no problem as long as you know how to keep care of the bamboo and the betta fish then no problem but yeahh you should get special aquatic plant’s sold at petstores for fish and even better don’t be shy and ask them question’s about plant’s special for betta’s
