How to fix Goldfish in shock?

Hello, I bought two new goldfish, but forgot to let the bag sit in the tank for a good hour or so. They are breathing heavily and I’m worried they might be in shock and die very shortly. The tank isn’t that big and the fish aren’t that big either. The tank is filled with room temperature filtered water. How can I fix the water problem now that I don’t have the water from the pet store? I’d be really sad if they died, because I can’t get a refund for my 26 cents. Just kidding, thanks for the help (:

It is probably stress. Give them some time to acclimate with the lights off, and don’t mess with anything. Goldfish are pretty hardy, and unless the water temperature or pH was way off from the water they were already in, they will not die.
there isnt a way to “fix” it just turn the lights off and keep it calm and hope. that’s all you can do. good luck with.. (at least it was a goldfish) im sure you’ll remember to float them next time. If they die just take it as a lesson learned!! GOOD LUCK
Is there any type of filter running at all? You say filtered water as if the water was filtered, not a filter is running. Golds need lots of oxygen and I always double filtered them plus added air sources.
In shock, all you can do is wait. Don’t bother them. let them recover asthey can.
