How many Piranha can I put in 55g aquarium? what other fish can they live with?

could I have a large school of neon tetras live in aquarium with them? is it true that by keeping the aquarium temperature a little lower 76-78 degrees the piranhas will not grow as big?
thanks

Neons can only be kept with very large, adult red-bellied piranhas that are housed in a school. It takes tanks in the hundreds of gallons to attempt this. And do not attempt to stunt a piranha. It will not end well.
Avoid schooling species, like red-bellies. Look at a smaller solitary species…I usually recommend elongatus. Very hardy, very attractive, but they do have a bit of a price tag to them. Nothing major, but expect to pay around $150.
Depends what kind you want. Only one red belly is recommended. And 25 gallons for any extra. Serrasalmus species should only be kept alone. I would recommend a 75 for them. Ive seen many videos. Im going to try that out soon when i get a bigger tank for my red bellies. Im buying a 300+ gallon for 7 piranhas and im going to buy a bunch of plants and different species of tetras. Ive seen them live together id say the trick is to feed them well and they wont bother them. Research them! I dont want you to be feeding them live feeders! A more cheaper and healthier option would be shrimp, smelt, or pretty much and white meat fish. Red meats are okay as treats because they usually have a lot of fat.
I don’t think that colder water will stunt their growth, small tanks will but it also stresses the fish and sure you can keep gobies with Piranhas just don’t expect them to be in there for very long. Oh and if you are looking at red bellies I can say that you can start with as many as you want but don’t expect that they won’t come up missing occasionally too.
I have 3 red bellied piranhas and my tank is about 30 degrees plus.
There swimming ok and feeding, will they be ok in these waters.
