The general rule for freshwater fish is an 2 inches per gallon of water.

90 gallons is a huge aquarium for all neon tetras! That being said they grow to a maximum of 2 inches and create little bioload. I would say you could get about 50-60 in that sized tank safely. Make sure you have good filtration and you can keep the temp in a neon tank at 75 F. They be more active at this temp by themselves. And cycle your tank before you add any fish!

    Good luck : )

You can probably have about 50-60. They don’t produce much bioload. You can also try and get differents schools of tetras, barbs, rasboras, danios and corydoras. I recommend having lots of plants in your 90 gallons tank.

Just keep in track of the water parameters.

alot. Maybe like 70-80 tetras. ecause you have such a big tank, the one inch per gallon rule does not apply here.

You could EASILY have about 150 Neons in there. This a 4 foot by 1.5 foot tank… that is a LOT of space for fish that stay VERY close together, produce VERY little waste, and don’t move very fast. Just be sure to add them in VERY slowly. I assume the tank is cycled? Add in about 30 at a time over the course of a month.
