How many Fancy goldfish can i keep in a 30 gallon tank?
i know my answer already… but just want to see the hate/agree/disagree comments. here.
Im going to put 3 Goldfish (maybe 4 after 4-5 months) in my empty 5 month cycled VERY WELL PLANTED fish tank. Ill be putting the following in there:
1 Black moore
1 Ryukin
1 lion head
and possibly 1 oranda.

you can keep a fancy goldfish well maintained in 10 gallons. What are you talking about Boomboom? Rofl….
its 30 gallons for the COMMON goldfish.

In a 30 gallon I would not put any more then 5 fish, gold fish of all breeds can and do get to be big fish.So to put more then 4-5 fish in is a death threat for them I have a 30 gal and I have 2 tennis ball size Lemon Severn’s in my tank.
If you add up all the maximum lengths it adds up to 28 inches, so you could probably cram them all in and be okay, but I wouldn’t suggest it. Maybe get a smaller fish than the oranda, they can get up to 12 inches!
