I wan’t to make my aquarium revolve around it
here are a few questions about bolivian rams
1) what are suitable tank mates?
2) what do bolivian rams eat?
3) what water ph level do they need? same for nitrite/nitrate/and ammonia levels?
4) what is their proper life span?
5) do they need something like pristine water conditions?
6) are they easy to care for? :)

You could probably do one pair if you want tank mates. If you don’t want tank mates, then you could have 1 male with two or three females.

They should eat just about any flake or pellet food.
They should have normal Ph level of about 6.5 to 7.8
Their life span is normally a few years
They should be okay as long as you have a filter and an air pump going
And they are in the intermediate level to care for

They are very beautiful fish and would recommend getting some!

1.) I would suggest keeping a male and female pair of rams. Suitable tank mates would be other South American fish such as tetras.
I keep my rams with hatchetfish. Because the rams occupy the bottom/middle of the tank and the hatchetfish stick to the top level. I wanted the tank to look full.

2.) I feed my rams frozen blood worms, and Hikari cichlid pellets. Variety is good.

3.) The prefer low pH. Ammonia and nitrites should be at zero. Nitrates below 20. They are unforgiving of poor water quality.

4.) I’ve found various answers saying that they live anywhere from 1-4 years. Wild-caught fish are not as hardy as captive bred fish.

5.) Add them to an established tank, so make them the final additions. Just keep up with weekly partial water changes, remove uneaten food, and regularly test the water.

6.) Bolivians are hardier than Germans. I do not think they are as difficult as some people make them out to be.
