I bought a koi fish the other day and right now it’s about 2 inches long. On the description when I bought it, it says it’s suposed to grow to be about 24 inches long, or 2 feet. My tank isn’t big enouph for a 2 foot long fish, so I was thinking of building a koi fish pong in my backyard. I would like to know how long it’s going to take my koi fish to grow to be 2 feet long from now.
sorry i meant “koi fish pond” not “koi fish pong”

haha! give that koi back to the store. koi can and if cared for properly will live much longer than you. having a koi is a commitment. cuz you know that if it dies it was your fault. if your ready to devote a large chunk of time to it though, it could live in the tank for a year or so, but i would get started on that pond asap. good luck : )
First in the glass tank the fish will grow very slowly
It need big space to swim minium you should have 1000 liter pond for one fish. Koi growth is based one three aspects 1. Bloot line of the fish. 2. Water quality. 3. Food. If all three is correct then your koi fish will grow approximately 80 to 84 cm some breeds are crossing 90 cm, like chakoi.
