how do I protect my fishtank while I bomb the house?

Are cat has gone unprotected (without Advantage) from flees.
So we must bomb the house with bug bombs…
The problem is I have a 55 gallon fresh water fish tank that needs to be protected and cannot be moved…
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing?

How about using trash bags to cover the top of the tank, and tape it to hold in place.

isn’t bombing the house a bit extreem to kill fleas? is there not a spray you can use?

Talk to your local fish store. You might be able to arrange for them to keep your fish for a short time while you bomb the house and re-setup the tank with clean fresh water.

I would not risk leaving the fish at home because no matter how well you seal the tank from the air in the house you’ll get some poison in the water.

Use a heavy duty garbage bag to cover the tank. If you can’t get one big enough, then go to a DIY store like Lowe’s or Home Depot and buy painting tarps. Unplug the filter and air pump, wrap cover the tank and make sure it is sealed tightly (I use duct tape). I put a sheet over the top of the tank and then double wrap the whole tank. Make sure you securely cover the entire tank and unplug the filter/air pumps etc…..

I’ve gone through this several times with multiple tanks. Once the bombs are spent and your house is “safe” again, remove the plastic and plug everything back in……

I’ve done this with flea bombs and when my house was commercially tented….. never lost a fish or had any problems.

THE TRASH BAGS WILL WORK BUT YOUR BEST WAY TO DO IT IS TAKE THE FISH OUT IN ANOTHER TANK AND COVER IT AND BOMB IT,,,,TAKE THE FILTER OUT TOO AS THE IS THE SPREADER OF DUST AND ALGY IN TANKS AND YOU CAN INSERT IT IN OTHER SMALLER TANK

coverthe entire tank, allot….but then the fumes will still get in. i think you will have to take the fish out, move it, and then put the fish back in. otherwise u will end up with dead fish.
