NO BLEACH !!! Absolutely not
Do not use ANY bleach or a little bleach, it will kill your fish. Hot water and a little scrubbing is all u need to do. NO CHEMICALS.
Never use harsh chemicals – simply use hot water and soak them for a little bit and wipe away with a fresh sponge or paper towel.
NO BLEACH!!! Get a pleco (algae eater) to take care of that for you. Bleach will kill your fish.
I wouldn’t use bleach, just take them out and brush them with an old tooth brush. Rinse them in hot water to keep some algae from coming back as fast.
There are special clensers you can buy that usually involve soaking for several days and then thouroughly rinsing the tank decorations. They should be available at any pet store.
The easiest and safest way to clean algae off of anything in the aquarium is to get an algae eater and let him go to work. If that doesn’t work, take the decorations out of the tank, let them dry, and scrub them with a toothbrush you don’t intend on using. If that still doesn’t work, let it soak in a very light bleach solution and make sure to rinse it with plenty of fresh water and let it dry again before putting it back in the tank.
NO, NEVER USE BLEACH IT WILL KILL YOUR FISH. What you have to do is either get a fish guy to come to your house and clean the tank or get either an algea eater ot a bunsh of snails from the pet store. Never use wild snails from put side they will kill the fish..

Only if you are EXTREMELY careful. You should use one part bleach to 10 parts water and soak the items overnight. You will then need to rinse them thoroughly and allow them to air dry. Then, let them soak in freshwater with de-choronator added for at least three days. The bleach smell must be completely gone.
Keep in mind that you are killing everything on them. If you just want to get some algae off of them, save the water from your next water change and scrub them with a new brush in the change water. This will allow you to keep the beneficial bacteria on the decor.
No, bleach will kill your fish if it gets into your tank. The best thing is good old fashion elbow grease and algae pad.
no.
boil water and place the pieces in there. the algae should loosen and you should be able to just wipe it off with a wet cloth. remember to allow them to cool before you place them back in the tank.
NO!!!!! NO SOAP….NO BLEACH…..
SPONGE AN ELBOW GREASE…WARM WATER…….
do not use harsh cleaning solutions on anything that goes into a fish tank if they are really nasty put them in a pot of tap water and boil them let them cool and put em back in
YOU ARE TAKING ADVICE FROM AN EXPERIENCED AQUARIST
Yes it is ok, no one else here is experienced here like me. If you do use it follow this: You should use one part bleach to 10 parts water and soak the items overnight. You will then need to rinse them thoroughly and allow them to air dry. Then, let them soak in freshwater with de-choronator added for at least three days. The bleach smell must be completely gone.
Then if any algae is left then scrub it with a tooth bush.
thanks for your time, I DE#SPERTLY NEED POINTS AND BEST ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE
Regardless of what everybody says, bleach will be fine to use….OUTSIDE the tank. Just remove the items to be cleaned, and dunk them into a mild bleach solution. Afterwards, soak them in fresh water for a couple of hours before placing them back into the tank.
I had a fish aquarium growing up. I always used bleach to clean the decorations. I would rinse them throughly afterward and let them soak in clean water for a while. I never had a problem with fish dying. Also, for added safety, you can add the stuff that takes chlorine out of the water to the water the cleaned decorations are soaking in. I mean really, is a little bit of left over bleach on the decorations any different than the chlorinated water that comes out of our faucets?
Do I need to unplug my heater to clean the algae off of it, it will be coming out of the tank?
