How can My family get rid of fleas?! Our house is literally infested.?
Our house is absolutely infested! We wake up and we have new flea bites! We can’t use flea bombs because we would have to move a B&G macaw outside in her approx. 4ftx 7 foot cage. Plus we have 3 Aquariums and some bettas and some smaller caged birds and a rat and a hamster and a ferret plus 3 dogs and 3 cats. We have dipped our dogs twice today, used like 3 different kinds of spray on them as well as dipped the cats once and used the fleas spray on them too. We also use like 4 kinds of home flea spray and they are STILL HERE!! Our vet says he doesn’t know what else to do (all the dipping and spraying was his idea) We have to wash our clothes with lice shampoo and laundry soap just so we can’t feel them crawling! My mom says if this goes on we are getting rid of every animal except the fish tanks, two of the dogs and the macaw, but I love my pets (MY pets are 2 of the cats, one fish tank, the bettas, the smaller caged birds, the rat the hamster and the ferret) The others are family pets
We can’t afford the Frontline/advantix type meds for all of the animals, and besides, that wouldn’t help the ferret, rat and hamster who also have fleas) I have been using cat flea shampoo and spray for the ferret, but it doesn’t work.
and frontline/advantix won’t stop the infestation of the house.
The macaws cage is wider than the door, when we bought it, we had to put it together, and I’d like to see you grab her and put her in a carrier. My stepdad did when we first got her and he almost lost his finger. My cat also lost a toe to her and one of our dogs has a scar on her nose.
It’s not that we are too lazy to do it, it’s just that we can’t get her out of the house. She will let us pet her sometimes on the head and wing, but if you put both hands on her or even act like you are going to, she attacks. She was abused, they grabbed her and stuffed her in the closet for days on end with no water and when she’d scream, they’d beat her with a broom stick, so we have to cover her cage when we sweep the floor.
Well, we bought one month supplies of Frontline for all the animals in the house, 5 dogs (2 outside 3 inside), 2 cats and 1 kitten and 1 ferret (we used kitten frontline for the kitten and ferret) So anyway, the Frontline almost killed my kitten, we had to rinse it all off for like 10 minutes and then we took him to the vet, he’s fine now, but the other animals still have fleas. So the Frontline is crap. It’s just a waste of our money.

go to lowes and get a smoke bomb. they come in cans and you just pull the tab. come back in a hour and they are all dead.
you are going to have to take the time and effort to remove all the animals from the house and bomb!
cover the fish tanks with plastic, and flea spray all the animals while they are outside.
and bomb the house if you dont you just not treating the animals fairly.
just because you have to many to afford what then need and that is not fair to the animals.
Sprinkle borax on the floor then let it set over night then vacumm in the morning then throw away the bag. Do this every day for a week and your fleas will be gone.
