How can I tell if my lighting is UVB?

go to a good local pet store they have the UV bulbs you need and take the bulb you have and ask them for your help
The only bulbs that produce sufficienct UVB for reptiles are the ones specifically designed for that purpose. They will have some mention of UVB and/or UVB % on the bulb because that is the main purpose of the bulb. ZooMed and Exo Terra are two of the main brands. It sounds like the bulb you have is for aquariums. Fish and aquarium plants do not require UVB so those bulbs are not designed to produce it.
