How can I slow the current in a 5 gallon fish tank?

5 gallon tank that came with complete set-up. Have to mollys in the tank. It seems right around the front of the tank is where the fish are just fighting against the current. I have two fake plants and two huts they can go in. I don’t know, I am new to fish tanks and the current just looks way to rough for them to survive!

The fish will be fine. If it slows down their will be less oxygen in the tank, and less oxygen is never a good thing.
You can point the current into the glass, or you can buy more ornaments/plants/drift wood. The more you put in there, the more the current will slow down. Also, some filters/pumps have ways to adjust the flow by putting on an adapter or adjusting the flow itself. Angles slow the current down.
Cheers
Hi, what sort of filter do you have in your tank? is it internal or external?, an external filter (in my opinion), is better for smaller tanks..eg. a waterfall type…but the internal filters usually have a control valve, your mollys will be fine, but maybe check with your aquarium supplier….hope this helps…good luck
I have a 5 gallon tank also. You can take a rubber band and twist it around the tubing just enough that will give you the current you feel comfortable with.
Purchase filter sponges and stick it into the chamber of the filter.
