How Can I Get Back My Faith?

I have had some bad experiances when i was younger with clicks at church I got sick of it and stopped going (I think I was 11). now I have had 6 deaths in the family and I have some health issues. I feel like I need to get back in touch with the lord. I have been reading Chicken soup for the teen soul and listening to 104.1 the Fish all the time, but I feel guilty for not going to church. I still haven’t gone because I don’t want to deal with clicks and all that social drama. I’m almost 15 it’s been 4 years. should I suck it up and go or is it enough to worship him and pray at home? (I am Chrishtain by the way) I’m really confused please help me out:)

I’ve just recently decided to re enter my christian faith as well…I’m 20 and I’ve been losing my faith since I was 17 or so…I just started going to church and reading the bible. I’m actually taking a disciple class as well…My advice to you is to go to church, not for your friends or for fun, but to learn scripture and to actually hear what the preacher has to say. Pick up a good bible for yourself and start wherever. The Lord speaks in so many ways; but our problem is we only hear what we want to. Start paying more attention to detail in your life and you’ll see that the Lord is good and all things happen through him. I know how hard it is to struggle with this, and I’ll keep you in my thoughts.

People only turn to religion(dis-reality) when actual reality becomes too uncomfortable to accept gracefully( 6 deaths, health issues).
Why should you feel guilty for not going to a Man-made building?
Accept death as a part of nature. No one can escape it. And no one ever sees this God thing, for some reason .

As a christian, you should know that God is love and lives in your heart, so he is always with you. There is no need to worship at a church, especially one that you will not feel comfortable in. I would suggest finding a quiet secluded place and pray and worship there.

Get yourself away from all those worldly distractions, then diligently read God´s Word, because faith only comes by hearing the Word of God, and if we are lacking faith, then we must more abundantly hear the Word of God; again, because faith comes only by hearing the Word of God, and by none other.

If you can, you may want to find another church nearby. So you do not have deal with the clicks. Otherwise go to church and after the service is over you should leave right away to avoid the people who annoy you. I like to sit in back.
    Hope this helps.

You need to stand for something or you’ll fall for anything. Also, your answers will not find you in books, they are within. Buckle down and start believing in something.

A christian is someone who believe in the lord and serves the lord. Someone that believes that Jesus died on the cross to save us. If you have problems at church pray to the lord about it or go to a different church. Read the bible, because those are God’s words.
It has been 4 years and people change. Go back and see what has happened and maybe they have changed for the better if they haven’t then hang out with other people. If all goes wrong, then you can move church. Remember just talk to God with your prays.

Let’s deal your positive side first.
When you stop going to church because you got sick of it at about 11, treat this as a great blessing in disguise. Remember what you have done right (which will become of immense value when you go into the adult world: you act on your inner wisdom (even though at that time it was just bad experiences that turn you off).
Remember also that this is year 2010. A lot of things have happened that have improved mankind. A lot of things have changed for the better. The rule of law, for example is more powerful and has a higher priority than your church. Being lawful, having character, and basing your behavior on principles (such as honesty, integrity, kindness, forgiveness) are more important than simply memorizing bible stories or going to church.
Remember this saying? Don’t throw away the baby with the dirty water.
The dirty water comprises whatever is dishonorable in the church. What about the baby? What or who is the baby?
The baby is the most important thing. It represents all that is wonderful of believing in the substance of religion, all major religions.
    All religions teaches the following:
    1. There are forces and energies in the universe much more powerful than man. We use words “God”, “Allah”, “The Divine”, “Providence”, to call The Force that cares about man. Remember Star Wars. when you watch Star Wars, at the end of the film you felt good. Why? Because at the end, the good guys win over the bad guys. Right? So don’t worry, be happy, and optimistic. In the end, Good will triumph over Evil.
    2. Unlike the dark ages, hundreds of years ago, we have more knowledge about the Divine and how we can reach Him without the middle man – the church. Bear in mind that if you love going to church because of some good things there, by all means go. But this is not necessary if your purpose is reach out to God or the Divine and want to be a terrific person.
    3. Because you are a Christian, instead of forcing yourself to go to church, go directly to God and say the Lord’s Prayer regularly, believing every word of it with all your heart, your mind and your soul:
Our Father who art in Heaven,
    Hallowed be thy name.
    Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day, our daily bread,
And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors.
    Lead us not into temptation,
    But deliver us from evil,
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever and ever,
I pray all these in the wonderful name of
    Our Lord Jesus,
    Amen.
A brief explanation of the Lord’s Prayer:
You acknowledge the existence and presence of God or Divine, and you’re honoring Him.
You want to do God’s will – by become a good caring person with character.
Daily bread refers to your livelihood which is best to be simple and prudent.
It’s only fair that as God has forgiven us our sins, we should be forgiving others as well, true?
“Lead us not into temptation…” means that you ask God to ensure security, peace and harmony in the world.
You acknowledge that God owns everything forever and ever.
You acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Mediator between you and God.
May God bless you and guide you,
May His light shine on you where ever you are.
    Amen.
