homemade co2 system help?

I made a homemade co2 system out of a 2 liter and air tubing and put an adjustable flow valve on it. i was wondering what the best recipe for the yeast/sugar/water mixture was, or what a good ratio is??? any help would be greatly appreciated. it is in a 30 gallon aquarium with 2 green myrios and a banana plant.
and what is better:n no air stone and putting the tubing into filter, tubing with air stone into filter, or just with an air stone by the plants?

I like using limewood airstones for this, though mine always tended to fungus up every day. I switched to a ceramic diffuser because of this. I use 2 cups of sugar, a 1/4 tsp of yeast, and 1/8 tsp of baking soda, to help hold the pH. Fill it about 2/3 with water.
