Help setting up a 150 gallon aquarium?
by Aquaboy on Saturday, March 27th, 2010 | 3 Comments
My friend just gave me a 150gal tank for free. I would appreciate as much information as possible. What kind of filters/pumps I need? How many? What are some really cool fish? Plants? Substrate?
i am considering 2 oscars and a pleco

Two canister filters like XP3-4′s would work great or one of them and an AquaClear 110.
Fish plants and substrate will depend on what type of tank you want to set up. A community tank with peaceful fish, cichlids, etc etc.
I don’t know much about all this, but you have got some massive tank!!!
For this large of an aquarium you might want to look into sump filtration which is an aquarium that is turned into a filter for larger tanks. If your tank is drilled then you may end up doing this anyway.
HOBs are great, but you will not be able to reach your full filtration needs.
Try checking out sump filtration for the best filtration for your tank.
