Help! My Aquarium water is yellow!?

Ok I have had my 55 gallon for 8 months so far and the water has been yellow and It’s really bugging. I had a drift wood in water for a year and every tank I put it in It makes it yellow. And only have like 12 fish in there and I have been using the Aquarium Pharmaceuticals algae fix and that’s always makes my water cloudy and my fish freak out when the water turns cloudy but than they get used it. I leave the light on from in the morning till the night and then turn it off and than only Saturday and sunday I leave it off. I don’t feel them that much. I clean the tank every 3 week s and only a 20-30% of water I take out and I always use a siphon hose the only kinda of plant I have are Bamboo and there are only 4 of them.. The tank is not next to a window and not In direct light. I use tap water or during the summer I use the horse. I bring the hose from my window and that works really well! my filter is a Ehem ecco I think it’s 2234. And I Use the best kind of the activated carbon change it every month and I rinse it well before placing it into the filter. SO please help!

Buy a yellow fish, so it matches the water colour. hehe

keep the light off! fish hate bright light, plus light creates algae

By using doe urine (approx. 1 liter for your tank), it will neutralize the cloudiness and the acidity that is causing the yellow hazy color. Good luck.

Driftwood will make all water yellow, it’s completely normal. It could be because of the driftwood, or because you’re not cleaning your tank enough. The bare minimum is removing and replacing 25% of the aquarium water once a week, you probably have a buildup of ammonia/nitrites, I’d look into that.

It’s the oils in the woods seeping out. Next time you want to put in driftwood soak it for like a week. Take the fish out of the tank and put them in a replacement tank. Take all of the water out. Cycle it and do whatever you need to do then put them back in. Try another form of decoration other than driftwood.
I know how you feel. I have no luck with extremely leafy plants. They grow way to big or don’t grow past 2 inches :L
