DIY Fish Tank Stand and New Cichlid 75 gallon Tank Setup
by Aquaboy on Sunday, June 13th, 2010 | 18 Comments
I upgraded my 40 gallon African Cichlid tank to a 75 gallon. I needed a custom size stand, that I ended up having to build. I know its kind of a long video, but I wanted viewers to get an idea of how I build it. There is video at the end. If you have any questions please ask, and feel free to give me a good rating, this was a lot of work
If there is enough interest, I will make a video of the canopy build

Spectacular! Wonderful job on the stand. Fish look healthy.
@mtrevizo1000 If you like I can arrange that you build one in the prison workshop haha peace!
DAMN!! I was enjoying this video and im planning on building one myself but when i saw u in uniform i had to go! haha peace!
@bugz289 This project took some time to finish, do to the fact I do not have a lot of clamps for gluing, and the paint had to dry between coats. Im not sure what I spent total, because I had some of the lumber in my garage, and all the screws and what not. Im pretty sure you will kiss a hundred dollar bill goodbye. The total weight was over 100 pounds also
@MrBIGSMOKE15 Well he got in a fight to be top dog of the of the tank, and he lost, but he seems to be doing fine
wht happen to the fish without tail
Looks very good. I Need to make a stand to hold a 70G wide aquarium. Hopefully it wont be uneven and ruin my tank.
i did the same thing when i bought a 75. the best part was i was able to take it apart and re make for my 125.
Great Video i have a 75 gallon fish tank too and wanted to buy a stand but all the prices were so high so after watching this i decided that im going to build mines just like yours only without the extra details.
oh and can u please show the canopy build as well. Thannks
Very Nice and Impressive build/setup! looks like it’d be featured in monsterfishkeepers ;D

Best video I have ever seen!
nice job … loved the tunage as well
lol when you shut the light off at 7:51
I’m planning on building a stand of my own soon and your video helped me answer some questions I had.
But if you don’t mind me asking, roughly how much did the supplies cost and how long did it take to complete?
you need live plants in the background potted in pots with topsoil and rocks covering the topsoil for more filtration .
to many fish to start off with. they breed like mad. u should make your rocks more vertical add more rocks and cave areas make better use your rocks
so defiantely add some potted plants
