4″ Clear PVC Sch 40….. bought it online!
Strawberry……… You must be new to the hobby….
Where did you get the acrylic tube. BTW, looks great! To strawberry…..$100 for a store-bought protein skimmer , quite possibly, a 300+ tank?? Try $700 and up for good ones. $166?? What a SAVINGS!
whats this song called??
Hi
Have anyone made this one ?
And how does i work ?
Henrik
I had the impression do-it-yourself projects were suppose to save on cost. One can get a protein skimmer for under or around $100 store/online bought.
At $166, that’s more expensive than what’s already available.
Is this more effective than retail bought skimmers? If they are the same or roughly the same, why spend the extra $60 dollars (or $166) on a DIY project versus a proven to work retail version? Just curious.
very cool. Thanks for posting
thats a big skimmer…
great music!
just for everyone who thinks this is the worst song ever. go lookup a band called tera melos. i guarantee it’ll make this sound like mozart in comparison.
sounds a bit like Ark of noise.
thats was the weridest song ive ever heard. loved your design =) but i had to watch it like 5,000,000,000 times. i payed more attention to the music =S pick a better song next time!!
I actually think this is a brilliant song LOL. How many fish jokes can you pack into a song!?
The specs are in the side bar!
How it works will take a lot more words than what YouTube will let me write in this box. I suggest that you do some research online or at a library. Oh, and get rid of the sea clone!
thats got to be the shittest song i have ever heard in my life
i did love your design, can you send me the specs so as to recreate it?
hey i like your skimmer i have a sea clone that iam not to happy with but at the time i bought it i was new to the whole sw hobby i like how you made the skimmer but can you tell me how it works and can i make a smaller one that will work like this one …. thanks for your time
thank you, your picture apper to look like you don’t have a air stone or any nano bubble maker, and instead have a steight flow of air from the pump. am i right?}
The pump was just a random Rio 2500 I had laying around. I figure it was putting through 500 gph.
The ‘air in’ can be seen at 0:17, 2:36, 3:55. It is the nob coming off of the black 3/4″ venturi.
The at 4:05 with the clear acrylic tubing attached so water does not leak out when the power goes out.
very nice desighn, but iwould like to see a better picture of your pump, air-in and size and strenghth power head
Thanks!
I’ll be building another one soon.
best homemade protein skimmer. gold metal to you man
They sell it at Lowe’s, probably Home Depot or Menard’s too. It’s like 5x the price though and those wide pipes are expensive. I think a large portion of the $166 spent on this thing was just the clear tubing for the center chamber.
You don’t need one for your freshwater tank.
This is fucking stupid you faggot nigger
