My Guppy Is Swimming At The Surface Of The Tank?

My guppy (who I’ve had for about a month and a half to two months) recently started swimming strangely; when he tries to swim in a straight line his body/head rocks back and forth. He has also been staying at the surface a lot. Today I noticed his tail looked like some of it was missing, and it also looked like his fins were clamped to his body. He is the only guppy in his one gallon tank, there is a carbon filter that is made for a 1-3 gallon tank, and I feed him once daily, about 1-2 flakes. I know that no one cares for one gallon tanks, but I’ve seen plenty of fish survive in tanks that size, so I don’t want to hear about the tank size killing him. For all you fish lovers I plan on getting a ten gallon tank after christmas. So if that is all you have to say don’t waste your time or mine please. I was wondering if anyone knew what could be wrong with him, or what I could do for him. From what I know of fish disease and such, it sounds like he may have a combination of swim bladder/clamped fins/tail rot. I clean his tank regularly. What could I do to help him? I’m also giving him an anti-fungal medicine from walmart called Fungus Clear by Tank Buddies.

Why Is My Tiger Oscar Fish Not Eating Anything?

My red tiger oscar (5 years old) does not swim as much anymore. We feed frozen bloodworms or fish pellets to him but he doesn’t eat it. Sometimes, I think he doesn’t even see it. When I came near the tank he used to come and greet me but now he doesn’t! I don’t know if its because he is blind?! I know the tank requirement for a red tiger oscar is 50 gallons… but our tank is 30 gallons. (Please don’t say ‘that’s really really small’ because I know it is, and I keep telling my parents to get a bigger tank for him but they say we have no space. Also, when the tank is cleaned, my fish is put in a tiny bucket which really isn’t good for the fish because it’s whole environment is changed but my parents won’t listen.. they think it’s really hard to clean the tank if we don’t and I really hate the fact that he has to do this everytime the tank is cleaned. Are these problems perhaps the reason why my fish isn’t eating and can’t see anything, or is he just getting old and about to die? Any solutions?
Thanks.
P.S, no HITH disease… he looks normal.

My Betta Fish Is Going To Die…….?

long story. i have a 10 month old betta fish. he lives in a 2.5 gallon tank. has a small heater, keeps it about 80 degrees. he has a nice cave to hide in and a fake plant to make bubble nests around. i treat his water to be rid of any bad chemicals. i do a complete tank cleaning/water change every other week. in between these i do a partial water change. i feed him freeze dried brine shrimp. he was so happy over the summer, constantly making the most impressive bubble nests and always eagerly eating his food. over the past two months he began only eating on and off and being much less lively. in the past week he has almost completely stopped eating and his stomach is sunk in. he is starving himself. he has no fungus or parasites, he looks visually fine. no fuzz, no choppy tail, no gold flecks when shined with flash light, he looks like a healthy fish (besides the sunken belly). there is no way he could have caught a parasite because i never give him bloodworms which can sometimes carry them and freeze dried brine shrimp cant carry anything bad. i have no idea what is wrong with him. if he is simply depressed or stressed i have no idea why. any ideas??????

What Happens If You Give Medicine To A Non-sick Betta Fish?

(I am aware this is in the wrong section, but my fish’s life is at stake and no one is in the fish section in YA)I think my male betta fish is sick, I think from the food rotting in his tank. He has a 3.0 gallon tank, heated (75-78F), and filtered. I did over feed him:(. I think he might have fin rot, fungus, depression, slowness etc possibly from the Ph. I am dechlorinating some water now because I am cleaning out his bowl, filter etc (just with rag and hot water) on Friday. I am going to buy him some medication. What kind should I get, and will it hurts him if its the wrong kind, or if he is not even sick. I am also buying Ph, ammonia testers to test his water for now on. Please Help!
