I bought a chocolate chip starfish not too long ago for my 10g to clean up the sand, and he does a wonderful job! The only thing I’m a little concerned about is after he’s done hanging out at his own personal jacuzzi (a volcano that blows bubbles), he likes to climb on top of the heater and I don’t know if it will burn him. He’s a wonderful addition to my tank and I don’t want to see him get hurt, so will the heater hurt him if he climbs on a certain part of it, or will he all right? This is the heater I have now:

i have a heater in a ten gallon tank and its not heating up very well. the water is still cold. i dont have a water pump or anything because its for a betta, its just a heater in there. would the heater work and how long would it take. i have a tetra one. u cant set the temperature, its suppose to “automatically warms water to the proper temperature for your fish(76 f to 80f) i totally regret not getting a thermometer, right now i just left the fish in the cup and put a lamp over it. right now its been in the tank for over an hour and the water still feels the same. is the heater broken or something?
the light on the heater is on and its red. the instructiion says when its heating, its red and green when its paused. but its been red for over 2 hours.

Hey guys i have a 23 gallon fish tank. I filled it up with very cold water about 1-2 hours ago and it still seems very cold. It is set on 25 degrees celcius. My heater is fairly old. It also doesn’t stick very well. It is in a corner standing vertically. Thanks.

Right now the water’s temperature is about 70F/20C. How much wattage does the heater I buy need to be in order to raise it to about 80F/26C?

I have a 5 gallon tank with an aerator, heater, and filter. I have one betta in there and that’s it. What does the check valve do? Does it reduce airflow? I hope so because I don’t want my betta fighting strong currents all the time. I also have an air stone so that the air is diffused more evenly. Please help. Thanks!

Hi there.
Set up my 30 gallon freshwater yesterday and have it running it’s cycle. The heater I had set on 82 degrees, but when I got up this morning the water was super cloudy and the thermometer said 90 or above.
I have turned the heater down to 72 and now it is dropping. Is this normal that the tank would get more heat because the lid is closed or something or is my heater messed up?
Also, I live in Texas and it has been around 75 degrees here lately.
The lid has been closed, but the light has been off.
Someone else told me I could buy some bacteria at the store and put it in the tank to make it less cloudy, is this the case?
