It depends on the fish. You shouldn’t give carnivores vegetables. Even Some carnivores will benefit from a tiny piece of pea once a week for digestion, but not more than that.

Some species are omnivores or herbivores, and thus relish plant material. Corydoras and plecos, for example, will really enjoy some sunken zucchini as food. People even feed bettas frozen/thawed peas chopped to bite size for fiber.

Sunken lettuce, squash, zucchini, boiled broccoli, and boiled green beans can all be fed to fish that will eat it. In order to feed it, you can use a plastic vegetable clip to weight it down in the aquarium. Never use metal to weigh anything down, as it can be harmful to the fish. Always be sure to remove it after a few hours.

yes. you can feed them lettuce. but there is a reason for using flakes and other foods. they are designed for the health of your fish. vegetables wont give them any protein. which they need a lot of because they are constantly working out.

the herbivores love vegetables. You can feed them cucumber, zucchini, lettuce, and peas. We have tried all of these and they love them. Peas are good treats for bigger fish like oscars and helps aid in digestion. And with the others you can put an anchor, like tying a stone to it, And they will pick at it. With lettuce we would rip up pieces and throw them in, but removing leftovers the next morning.
