I was walking on the beach and i saw these pretty flat rocks that would look great in my planted FRESHWATER aquarium . is it safe to use them? will they change the ph or anything?
I WOULD…JUST BOIL THEM….NO SOAP OR BLEACH..
You can take a little bit of vinegar, and drip it on the rocks, if it fizzes or bubbles, don’t use them in your tank because they will alter your ph.
Otherwise, simply boil them (no soap) and scrub off any debris and they should be perfectly safe.
Best of Luck!
definetley put them in the tank it wont do any harm!!
It can be kinda risky but I’ve done it a few times. Make sure you wash them really well with JUST water, no soap or chemicals and then boil them for like 20min. to kill anything bad.
