Can I mix danios, tetras, and guppies?

I’m just wondering if this is a good community aquarium. I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 one inch danios and 4 one inch tetras. I have a male guppy in another tank but I want to put them all together. Will the danios nip the male guppy’s fins? The internet says that danios are known for fin nipping, but is it okay?

yes
in a group, the danios will probably be ok. its barbs that are notorious fin nippers. and most fin nippers go for fish like angelfish and betta
I strongly suggest that you do not mix your guppy in with your danios. Danios are in fact fin nippers and are known to be very aggresive. Since you only have a 10 gallon tank and a ratio of 4 tetras to 1 guppy it is not a safe environment for your guppy. Fin nipping species cause stress on other fish which in return makes them ill. Do not take this risk and hurt your guppy. Keep them separated. As for your tetras, if they get along well with the danios then you should be all set. If they do not get along then you can mix them in with your guppy as long as they are not serpae tetras (they like to nip) and the tank is atleast 10 gallons. Good luck and have fun.
If you absolutely want to test it out, then go ahead, it shouldnt’ create too much of a mess i believe.
However, i still don’t suggest that for the same reason as above.
Also, i own all the fishes that you mentioned.
Danios are way faster and active. It’s a small tank, it could create a lot of stress to your slow guppies. And if they do start nipping, they may or may not, your guppies are dead meat.
Though they are all community fish, I still think it’s not fair to your guppies.
Hi,
No they should all be fine as they are all community fish.
yes but your tank is overstocked
danios shouldn’t nip if kept in school larger than 6
