Can I keep 1 XS Mickey Mouse Platy and 1 Male Guppy…?

In a 1 Gallon Aquarium? I bought one but I don’t know what to do. I had a Neon Tetra in it, but I RETURNED IT TO THE PET SHOP because it should be in atleast a 10 gallon and in shoals of at least six. I saw some Guppies and Some XS Mickey Mouse Platys at Petsmart and it said they can be in a 1 Gallon aquarium. If you don’t think I should keep those, what would you recommend? It already has a live plant, a filter, and an air pump so I don’t want to just put it to waste.

you shouldnt be keeping anything in a one gallon. i dont know why they even sell those. all they are good for are keeping plants and maybe a couple of shrimp

I disagree with whoever said you can keep guppies and platies in a one-gallon tank. They will survive in one for quite a while, but they won’t thrive.
I recommend you get some small shrimp, such as cherry shrimp or Amano shrimp.

U cant get anything. Plattys get to be 2 1/2 inches. I have 4. Return the tank. DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE , BETTAS NEED AT LEAST 3 GALLONS. I reccomend not getting anything NOT EVEN SHRIMP!!!

I’m sorry, but it would have been a good idea to return the tank as well. No fish can live well in such a small tank.

I work for Petsmart actually, and most of the labels are just plain incorrect. It is actually silly to list any fish as requiring only a single gallon because those fish are tropical and require an aquarium heater- one gallon is not safe to heat. That is just one of many reasons.

No way not at all don’t try it no fish can live in a one gallon tank. Get a shrimp like a cherry shrimp

yes fish can live in it but its not good for them. im gonna have to dissagree on the bettas though you could get one and keep it in there successfully for a long time. i have had bettas before and ive never had one in anything bigger then a gallon and they will live for several years. bettas can be found in puddles the size of your footprint in nature so there ok in a small confined space. bettas are also very hardy really they dont even need a filter but its a plus. if i were you and you just want a single fish get a five gallon tank then get a dwarf puffer, these fish have so much personality and are always begging you for food and quickly come to recognize you. plus they only get an inch long at full length
