Can I buy and maintain a pygmy shark in a 55g aquarium?

I was wanting to get a small shark for my 55g aquarium. this seems to be the smallest, but I have not seen them anywhere to buy.
A pigmy shark dosen’t exceed a foot though.

If you mean a real, marine shark, then no, a 55-gallon tank is much too small.
You might keep the very smallest of true sharks in about a 300-gallon aquarium, but bigger would be better.
If you mean a true saltwater shark, nope.
Even the smallest species will outgrow a 200gal tank.

If you’re talking about the Pygmy Shark (Euprotomicrus bispinatus), it is indeed one of the smallest sharks, but as far as I know, it’s not available for home aquaria.
